How To Play

Welcome to Rubble Muddle! Get ready to blast and sift your way through tons of rubble to uncover precious jewels hidden beneath the surface.

Game Overview

Rubble Muddle is a 2D puzzle game where strategy meets explosive action! Choose from two exciting game modes:

Mining Adventure: Progress through challenging levels, each with its own unique grouping requirements. In the earlier stages, you'll start by being able to select one item, but as you advance, these requirements evolve — keeping you on your toes as you clear each screen within the time limit to advance.

Mining Arcade: Dive into non-stop action where you start by selecting groups of two. Every 10 rounds, the minimum grouping size increases, pushing your skills and strategy to new heights in this endless mining frenzy.

Remember: Move Things to create larger groups of objects.

Remember: The more you group, blow up, and grab, the closer you get to unlocking bonus awards and high scores!

Precious Items to Collect

Diamond - A crystal of pure carbon, the hardest natural material on Earth, and prized for its brilliance and sparkle.

Gold - A dense, soft metal famous for its lustrous yellow color and historical value. It's a universal symbol of wealth and treasure.

Emerald - A green beryl gemstone known for its vibrant color - valued since antiquity for its lush hue and rarity.

Ruby - The red variety of corundum, prized for its deep crimson color and durability.

Rocks to Blast Away

Coal - A black sedimentary rock made of compressed plant matter - used as fuel and symbolizing old mining history.

Pumice - A porous volcanic rock so light it floats on water — formed during explosive eruptions.

Slate - A fine-grained metamorphic rock that splits into thin sheets — commonly used for roofs and chalkboards.

Iron Ore - A rock rich in iron minerals, essential for steelmaking and industrial use.

Limestone - A sedimentary rock made of marine organisms' shells — key in cement production and building materials.

Granite - A durable, coarse-grained igneous rock formed underground — widely used in construction and monuments.

Marble - A metamorphosed form of limestone — polishable to a high sheen and famed in sculpture and architecture.

Amazing Bonus Power-ups

Big Bomb - BOOM! Clears all rocks within its blast radius.

Mystery Bonus - Removes all objects of one random type. Feeling lucky?

Extra Dynamite - Adds 10 dynamite sticks to your supply.

Extra Bag - Gives you 10 additional collection bags.

I first wrote Rubble Muddle using C# / XNA way back in 2009, I launched it into the Indie Live Store for the XBOX 360. I also ported it to Objective-C to run on the iPhone and it was present in the App Store for a number of years, unmaintained,  until it was no longer compatible.

Recently, I discovered Odin and wanted to try writing something, Rubble Muddle seemed like a reasonable project and this is the result.

It feels like this game has potential, but does require some play testing and feedback. If you have any feedback, then please make a comment.
